Biloxi
A coastal city in Mississippi located west of Ocean Springs across Biloxi Bay. Following the July 4 Horn Island trip, GPS data show the boat was moved overland to the vessel owner’s residence in Biloxi around 7:30 p.m.
Fort Bayou Boat Launch
Key marina point along Highway 609 where the vessel carrying Nolan Wells was loaded onto a trailer at 7:19 p.m. on July 4 following the trip to Horn Island. GPS data tracking the boat’s movements shows it traveled here from the dock before being transported overland to a local residence.
Horn Island
Barrier Island off the Mississippi Coast where Nolan Wells was last seen on July 4 during a group boating trip. It served as the central focal point of the initial search efforts and was where a U.S. Park Service ranger discovered his body on July 6.
Ocean Springs
Coastal city on the Mississippi Sound and Nolan’s home base at the time of his disappearance. The group departed from a local dock for Horn Island, and the first reports of a missing person were filed with local authorities when Nolan failed to return home.
